Hello Everyone!

Hope you had a relaxing weekend! Last week, we’ve hosted a poll for YOU to choose the next Community Classic and we are really amazed by the responses that we got – a total of 540 votes!!

The voting was close! More than 500 of you voted on the entries. Tanlin Lau has come in first place with 254 votes, followed by Diana’s entry with 171 votes! Thank you everyone for supporting these Community artists!

With that being said, I am extremely honored to present you our 8th Community Classic artist, Tanlin Lau! Tanlin’s work has been often praised by the Community for their meticulous details as well as their emotional power. This particular piece, “The Beauty of Life Through My Eyes,” really shows the best quality of her work! As you know, a Community Classic is a piece of art made by a fellow SPP user, not only handpicked by the SPP Staff but also voted by the Community, framed by our Design team, and digitally signed by the creator. Community Classics are released with a limited quantity, priced at 200 Gold, and they are NOT restocked.

When a designer’s habitat is turned into a Community Classic, the creator receives the exclusive “Community Classic Creator” badge, a copy of the item, and a Gold-and-Cash prize! If you own the artwork, you will receive a very rare “Community Classic Collector” badge!

“I am a New Zealander who loves adventure, cultures, traveling, and just life itself! I am a huge SPP lover as I have made so many amazing friends on here who have brightened my life in so many ways. I feel that whether you are a child, a parent, a grandparent, SPP gives you a fun and creative environment to expand your artistic talents. I also believe that new talent shows in SPP everyday and I thank God for letting me find a wonderful place to not only be creative but to also admire so many different types of art from all over the world. Thank you SPP for all the hopes and dreams your site gives to so many!

My inspiration for this piece of art was an amazing friend, Sara Farnham, who I met on SPP soon after I joined. Sara has always been a huge supporter of my artwork and she has an amazing heart! Whether I have had to take breaks here and there, she never forgets me… She is a wonderful confidante throughout my life and someday I would love to meet her in person! She is one of the many who have made me love SPP with all my heart and makes it that I will never leave.

So, I made this picture and dedicated it to her as I think she is a beautiful person inside and out. My roses represent the beauty of her and the perfection of her heart. My eyes represent how I see her as a person, bright and amazing. My moons represent the purity and angel-like soul that she has. All in all, through my eyes, she is just beautiful!”

Hi Everyone!

About three months ago, we introduced our first Community Classic. With such talent and art appreciation in the Community, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen such support from fellow designers. This time, we would like to include you in the process of making our 8th Community Classic! So we are opening up the floor!!!

We have dug throughout the Community and pre-selected four amazing habitats for you to vote!

Here are some rules on voting:
1) You may choose ONE habitat. Please clearly indicate which one you prefer by using the artist’s name
2) Please be respectful of each other’s opinions and work.
3) You may only vote once. If you wish to modify your vote, please quote your previous post and let us know that you’re modifying your vote.
4) The voting starts now and will run until 6PM, Pacific Time (9PM Eastern Time) Friday, November 12th, 2010.

“Kris’ turkey habitat is so great! She really got into the Thanksgiving spirit by making this amazing turkey out of orange and yellow fall leaves, which are both 50 coins in the Pet Shop. All around Kris’ turkey are signs of autumn: yellow and green fall leaves, pumpkins of all sorts and hardy acorns, which are 10 coins in the Pet Shop. We can’t wait to see more Thanksgiving habitats in the weeks ahead!”

Talin’s habitat has amazing details and meticulous layout of items to depict the loveliness of the flowers and the piercing blue eyes. The contrasts of emotions and the colors are beautifully drawn in this habitat!
