Question for the SPP community & SPP Addict blog fans:

Posted on by jareth2 Posted in How To's, Question and Answer, SPP Addict News, SPP How Too's, YouTube Videos | 86 Comments

Question to my fellow SPP Fans, do you believe this is cheating? A simple question as this Blog has to stand NUETRAL in its SPP NEWS we bring you. This was recently posted in the SPP UPDATE thread about cheating by a Community member. Here is his statement that followed this video:

“This isformation was underground before slide block our accounts now we have to proof we don’t cheat so all the information how to play faster on spp will be release.”

Tell us what you think.

Is this cheating OR is this not cheating?

Thank you, ADDICT STAFF.

SPP's investigation on CHEATING on SPP

Posted on by jareth2 Posted in Question and Answer, SPP Addict News, SPP News | 127 Comments

Hi Everyone,

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve received reports of people cheating on SPP. After further investigation, we have unfortunately concluded this to be true.

A small set of users were running scripts to gain coins and SPP points that they didn’t earn. Thanks to the reports from the SPP Community, we were able to quickly investigate the cheaters and release a fix to prevent them from being able to continue scamming the system.

In addition to fixing the exploit, we have permanently banned the accounts of all of the users that were scripting SPP. The Club points these users cheated to get have been removed from the system and will not affect this week’s Club rankings. We were saddened to see that a few of the cheaters were active members of the SPP Community and Club founders. We hate banning users, but we know that to keep SPP fun and fair we have to remove cheaters when we find them on SPP.

While we were investigating the scripting issue, we also found a group of users abusing the pet exchange feature to gather extra coins and SPP points. We have now blocked this exploit and removed the extra coins and SPP points gathered during pet exchange to prevent this from being exploited in the future. You will still be able to exchange your pet, we will simply maintain your pet’s caretaking meters vs. resetting them after the exchange.

Thank you again to the users who brought both of these issues to our attention and to everyone for being patient with us while we investigated the issue! Please remember that auto-clickers, auto-togglers, and any other tools that are used to get around the limits of the game are considered cheating and go against the spirit of SPP. Cheaters that use these types of tools to harm the SPP Community will have action taken against their account which may include account suspension, club point resets, and having points, coins, and/or items removed from their account.

If you ever see users taking advantage of an exploit or otherwise cheating on SPP, please report them to an admin to help us keep SPP a fun, safe, and fair place for everyone.

Thanks,
Elin

SPP UPDATE ON CHEATING INVESTIGATION

**for those that have been locked out of their accounts or even just those that have a hard time getting into the forum side of SPP. Here are the rest of the statements posted by SPP Staff on top of the original post by Elin:

Hi Everyone -

Unfortunately, not every member of the SPP Community follows the guidelines that are in place to protect and keep SPP safe and fun. You can find details of these rules in the Forum Guidelines (http://superpokepets.com/spp/playground/topic?tid=Lb2t8gWRiWRNvHj5DvT3-Q) and Terms of Use (http://www.slide.com/static/terms). When users violate these community rules, we take action on their account, which may include permanently banning it in the most severe cases. If we take action on a group of accounts for a specific exploit, cheat, or set of activity, we try to update the Community with as much information as possible. To protect the privacy of users, we will not typically publish a list of users involved in specific activity that results in them being banned. If you have questions on your specific account being banned, please contact us directly through the CSC – http://superpokepets.com/spp/help as we will not discuss specific banned accounts with users in the forum.

Luckily, most of the users in the SPP Community are fantastic and we rarely have to ban users. Please know that we truly hate banning users and we will only do this when it is absolutely necessary. We want to keep SPP fun for everyone in the Community. To do help us do this, please send a report to an admin anytime you see users that are not following the guidelines or terms of use above.

Thanks in advance for your help. Let’s all work together to keep SPP safe, fun, and fair for everyone!

Nicole

Hi Everyone -

To clarify, we did not ban users that exchanged their pet (even those that did so excessively). As many of you noted, this was a feature that we allowed and we fixed the ability for it to be exploited.

The only users we banned were those that used computer programs to script the SPP system in an attempt to illegally gain points and coins that other Community members earn from dedication and hard work. These users were generally using the scripts to get their clubs ahead and to take the 5 star top rating from other clubs who were actually working hard to earn it. We can differentiate between scripts and actual user activity. The line for users to be banned was set fairly high and those users that were banned often had thousands of actions being performed from their account per second – something that no person is capable of doing, no matter how quick they are with their mouse.

Again, we only ban accounts when absolutely necessary and when there is sufficient evidence to take this action.

**REMEMBER WE ARE  NOT AFFILIATED WITH SPP OR SLIDE. WE ARE JUST PASSING ON INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE FOUND THAT THE COMMUNITY NEEDS/WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT. THANK YOU**

CLEARING UP CONFUSION ON RELEASE TONITE:

Posted on by jareth2 Posted in Question and Answer, SPP Addict News, SPP News | 7 Comments

Here is the Post you see on your homepage from the staff of slide.

-Hi everyone! Look out for amazing user-created items along with our regular release tonight in the Pet Shop at 12AM PDT! Stay tuned :) -

This isn’t changing any release time or adding one in on us to the petshop. They are just letting us all know they are comming out with the long awaited USER CREATED items people have been working on to bring to the rest of the SPP community. We do not know if these will be coin or gold items as of yet, but as soon as we find out we will let you know ASAP.

So, everyone please relax as all release days and times have not changed.

P.S. As far as the spuratic coin releases those only tend to happen around holiday times and/or new features that the items can be used for. We hope this clears up some confusion going on around SPP community. :)
